In 2015 I was approached by Aliye, a choreographer who wanted to start her own dance school.
She invested in advertising and international competitions, talked about herself and her achievements, but clients were still reluctant.
It was because of the amateur videos, shot in poor quality, which she posted on social networks.
To show herself and her expertise, Aliye asked someone to film her on the phone. Of course, a person who has nothing to do with the photo/video art, could not find the right angle, build a composition, feel the frame and present the object in a good light, especially in the dance.
As a result, instead of a positive result, Aliye was losing clients simply because of wrong positioning.
I was interested in doing this project.
And it was not only about her ability to dance very well - Aliye is a very strong teacher and knows how to present information very well, which is very important for the final result.
Having studied the possible competitors
and the target audience, I thought through a promotion strategy with a video on a YouTube channel.
Everything went according to plan:
First, we created a visual style - "packaged" it
- we found the necessary specialists;
- we ordered the creation of a logo;
- we conducted a photo shoot for business cards, flyers, avatars and covers for Instagram and YouTube.
Then I did an identity unpacking for Aliye.
I pulled all the most important points & values
from the real story of her life and formed the image of a character who adored dancing with all her soul, who struggled to reach her goal, but still made it.
The content plan should include different types of content:
  • entertainment;
  • educational / expertise;
  • which is engaging;
  • personal / live content;

Each of these should have a sale of her services or master classes inserted into it.

Next, I shot the first set of content with positioning and character history in mind following the plan below:

(with the help of a specialist).
As a result we had
25+
videos,
some of them had
50.000+
views
(without using advertisements).
Aliye was revealing herself more and more deeply
and vividly!
With each video her popularity grew up.
We managed to pump up Aliye's image for the audience with high-quality content.
Thanks to her professional approach she was noticed not only by potential clients, who began to find her on their own and sign up for individual lessons,
but also by colleagues, who offered various collaborations and master classes.

Thanks to the prepared presentation video in English, Aliye got an offer to give a Pole Dance master class in Turkey, where she was accepted with enthusiasm!
And,
After half a year of work with this strategy, Alie was able to raise the prices for her services and become one of the best Pole Dance teachers in Kyiv.
At that time Aliye was working
at the dance studio
«VALERIA'S SECRET» (pole dance & fitness) as a coach and teacher.
Her rapid growth really intrigued the founder of the studio, Valeria Kostenko.
That's why Valeria offered me a long-term collaboration as a PR and content-maker for this studio.
That's what we called the position then, but now I realize that it was a symbiosis of a producer and a director.
I could clearly see all the possible viral potential and understood how to sell a person and their expertise through social media with video content.
As a Producer
I shot videos in my favorite atmospheric style, constructing from them a single picture, revealing the character according to the rules of dramaturgy.
